ADVISORY BOARD
As
a trusted quaility assurance source for fitness education,
the American Council of Fitness Education advisory
board is comprised of health professionals from all
areas of the health profession. The members of the
advisory board have over 50 years of experience in
the health and wellness field, all being at very advanced
level positions. The advisory board is committed to
ensuring that education is of the highest quality
and meets standards set by credible organizations.
Every course submitted for accreditation is reviewed
by the staff at the American Council on Fitness Education,
as well as the board members listed below for quality
assurance. Though the education evaluation system
used to qualify education courses is rigorous, this
type of intense evaluation is necessary to ensure
the credibility of a course and issue the Amercian
Council on Fitness Education stamp of approval.

Jay
Barton, Principal, Chairman of the Board
As the Prinipal of a public school, Jay brings over
20 years in the education field as both a classroom
educator specilizing in test evaluation and as an adminsitrator
evaluating program, policy and procedure as it relates
to education. Jay also brings fitness experience to
our team as a first degree black belt in Karate and
fitness enthusiast by nature. With the combination of
education and fitness experience, Jay is a highly skilled
and qualified board member who will ensure that the
courses are of the highest quality and workmanship. |

Joseph Wood, Physical Therapist, Advisory Board
Member

As
an advanced level Physical Therapist, Joseph provides
expertise in the areas of anatomy, exercise prescription,
and injury rehabilitation. As a certified Personal Trainer,
Joseph combines the skills and experience as a Physical
Therapist to provide advanced services to clients across
the country. Joseph is committed to improving the quality
of education as it relates to fitness and his dedication
and motivation makes him a valuable member of the ACFE
team. |

Kellie Breen, Ocupational Therapist, Advisory
Board Member

As
a professional member of the American Occupational Therapy
Association (AOTA) for over 13 years, Kellie has had
experience that ranges from treating patients with orthopedic
diagnosis such as knee and hip replacements to neurological
diagnosis such as CVA (stroke) and cardiac diagnosis.
Most recently, Kellie has begun training patients with
surgical repairs and injuries of the hand. Occupational
Therapy widely focuses on muscle re-education and therapeutic
exercises of the whole body with an end goal of independence
in activities of daily living. These types of experiences
and and qualifications provide the ACFE much insight
into a fairly new and innovative area in the health
field. |

Brooke Parkyn, Physician Assistant, Advisory
Board Member
Working directly with Physicians, Brooke has vast experience
in the medical field namely in medical prescription
and wellness strategies. Her talent and qualifications
in regards to medicine and how fitness can assure one
of a quality lifestyle allow her to become one of the
top Physician Assistants in her field and a valuable
member to our professional board.
